Advantage of a liquid fuel boiler is in independence. However, high cost of fuel (diesel or crude oil) leads to a significant increase in heat unit cost compared to gas-fired boiler usage. In addition, there is a need for storing liquid fuel, and therefore it is necessary to provide space for a plastic or steel tank. The container with fuel can be stored in a specially equipped room, or it is buried under the ground outside the house (also fuel at petrol stations is chroned). It should be noted that even a closed fuel oil emits a specific odor, so it is often preferred to store liquid fuel in buried tanks. During the operation of the oil-fired boiler, with sulfur oxides, by interacting with water vapor, can condense on internal boiler or chimney surface, causing metal corrosion, especially at low coolant temperature. Therefore, use of liquid fuel boilers in low-temperature heating systems greatly shortens life of boiler equipment.

Liquid fuel boilers should be installed in a separate room with a hood. In addition, they require a stock of fuel, which, in general, can be stored in the same room in a special plastic or metal container, in compliance with the rules of fire safety. If a plastic tank is used, it should be installed in a metal tray, which, in case of leak, will not allow fuel to spill over floor.

The consumption of liquid fuel can be approximately calculated by simple formula: divide maximum power to ten. You can also say that for house heating with an area of 150-300 square meters, it will take 2-4 tons of solar oil. At the same time, we must not forget that fuel lines must be insulated, otherwise fuel viscosity will increase and its transfer will require a greater power of fuel pump. Also, fuel lines must be qualitatively installed, since the slightest leakage in fuel channels leads to ingress of air into it, as a result of which the combustion process can be interrupted. And it is also necessary to have a fine fuel filter, which prevents clogging of boiler nozzles, which leads to its productiviy decrease.

The boiler is the main element of modern heating system, designed to produce heat energy for heating and hot water supply of buildings, structures, premises.

Conditionally, all boilers, depending on fuel type, can be divided into four types:

    • Gas boiler (traditional (convectional) and condensing;
    • Liquid fuel boiler;
    • Solid-fuel boiler (classical and pyrolysis);
    • Electric boiler.

As can be seen from above diagram, today, natural gas, liquefied balloon gas, diesel fuel, electricity, firewood, pellets, anthracite, coal, peat, coke and others can be used as fuel for the boiler of heating system.
