Ventilation air handling units for BD air-conditioning systems
BD roof air conditioners are produced in 21 sizes, providing a range of air productivity from 1,000 to 106,000 m3/h. Placing the air conditioning unit directly on the roof allows designing a less branched ventilation system with a shorter network of ventilation ducts, so the resistance to air flow and thus the power consumption will be small compared to classical systems in which the central washers are located in the engine room and the air is bred for a considerable distance along a long network of channels. Especially advantageous is the use of roof systems in design of ventilation system, which includes devices for cooling the air, working together with an air condenser installed on the roof. This eliminates the need for laying long pipelines for the coolant. However, the principal advantage of BD installations is the saving of useful space, which, in case of classical systems, would have to be assigned to engine room.
